The issues I can say I have had through this process are that I have choosen a topic that is very dear to my heart. I was having an issue with keeping my personal opinion out of it. I had to find sources to prove my information. I know personal opinion is a good thing but you need the references to back it up. Give people places to go so they can comfirm the information you have given them. I think the comments I ecieved were very helpful. This has given me an insight to where I need the paper to flow, and to make sure mt thesis is proper order of my key points. I would like to think I am using this blog page after class I think it would be a good way for me to vent Also it's a great way to stay in touch with some classmates, this would be a great place to bounce ideas off of friends as well. I am going to try really hard to make my paper flow from one paragraph to the next. (with transitional words). I am also going to makes sure anyone can find the information I have explained by providing the references. I am going to provide an interesting paper so hopefully it will let people know what a horrible disease ALS is.

I think peer reviews are awesome. They can sometimes give us unseen forsight into something we may have simply overlooked. They can keep us focused so we are connecting to the reader. We had peer reviews in my last comp class and they worked very well. Sometimes when you are the writer you can't always see everything you need to see no matter how many times you review. They can also let you know if you stray. They do a good job of keeping you focused on your topic. I can't say I had any AhHa moments while I was researching my topic. Unfortnatly I have had a lot more experience then most with ALS. I have has two family members pass away from ALS. I can say we did a lot of research on the disease when they were diagnosed. I did however find something intriging about ALS. The doctor that discovered is also who the disease was named after. Also that it was first diagnosed at the Mayo Clinic in 1939. Wellenough babbling for now looking forward to reviewing some papers. Good Luck!!!!!

I have been dealing with a lot these last 6 weeks. I have had more seizures and they are trying to change my meds. The new will only be about 280.00 for 1 month. hahaha only be. Had to add a bit of humor to that one. As far as Comp class I would have to say I have learned to actually like writting when I have a topic that is dear to my heart. Mine will be about ALS I have lost 2 very close people to me and it is a horrible thing to have to watch someone to go thru knowing that there is nothing you can do to help them. I have found that writting has become easier to me this term. Only hope professor Julie likes my paper as much as I do. LOL. As far as how may paper may help research in the future. I would hope it will help someone who has ALS or has a loved one with it to understand it a little better or maybe to give them places to go for information. I would like to add that this Comp Class has shown me ways to put my ideas down on paper with expression and I just love Professor Julie you are AWESOME. I know I babble sorry.

I would have to say I am still trying to figure out what my writing style is. This is my second Comp class and I have yet to figure that out yet. I guess I could start by saying I just write down a few things and then as I do more research I keep jotting things down until I finally have written a paper. So if anyone knows what kind of style that is please let me know. I think caous would be a good word to start....LOL I had a great New Years my daughter, husband and 3 kids that live with me all went to my other daughter's house so it was quiet and that was wonderful. Oh yeah I also went out to dinner at Applebees and the steak was awesome. It was awesomw because we recieved a gift card to there for Christmas so the food was great and free. What could be better!!!! Have an awesome day everyone! As far as any challenges that I have I must definatly say it is my Anatomy & Phisology class I am doing ok in it but I will have a B by the end of the term because I have it in my head I will not repeat this class!!!!! As far as how school is influencing me I would have to say it has taught me that old dogs can learn new tricks. I have been out of school for 33 yrs. before I started here at Kaplan I was scared to death but I have learned that I can still learn. I have done pretty good so far even surprising myself in a few classes. I have something to be proud of and the A&P class will not beat me. A classmate last term when I mentioned I had A&P coming up said let me ask you 1 thing what do you know about your body I replyed It's old and tired she laughed and said what else I replyed It's old and really tired. I love my time here at Kaplan and what I have learned so far and I am looking forward to learning even more.
